Let visitors upload documents and sign directly inside your form, then store both values with the final submission.

How can I collect file uploads and signatures in the Poper Form?

You can add both File Upload and Signature fields from the Create tab, customize them from field settings, and then test the full flow in preview before publishing.

This is useful for quote requests, onboarding forms, consent forms, KYC flows, and contract approvals.

What this feature does

  • File Upload field: allows visitors to attach files (for example resumes, documents, screenshots, IDs, briefs).

  • Signature field: allows visitors to draw a signature directly in the form.

  • Both values are saved as part of form response data.

Step-by-step setup

  1. Open your form in the editor.

  2. Go to the Create tab.

  3. Add a File Upload field.

  4. Add a Signature field.

  5. Click each field and configure its settings in the properties panel:

    • Label

    • Required / optional

    • Helper text (instructions)

  1. If needed, move/reorder these fields so they appear at the correct step in your form flow.

  2. Save the form.

Recommended field copy (client-friendly)

Use clear instructions so visitors know what to upload/sign:

  • File Upload label: Please upload your supporting document

  • Helper text: Accepted formats: PDF, JPG, PNG. Max size: <your limit>

  • Signature label: Please sign to confirm your approval

  • Helper text: Use your mouse or finger to sign in the box

How to test before publishing

  1. Open Preview.

  2. Upload a real sample file.

  3. Draw a test signature.

  4. Submit the form.

  5. Go to Results and confirm:

    • file value is present

    • signature value is present

    • submission is complete

Best practices

  • Keep file upload optional unless it is strictly required.

  • Mention allowed formats and size in helper text.

  • Place signature near final consent text for clarity.

  • Test on mobile as well (upload and sign behavior can differ).

If visitors face issues

  • If upload fails, ask them to try a smaller file or different format.

  • If signature doesn’t look right, ask them to clear and re-sign slowly.

  • If submission is blocked, check whether either field is marked required.

  • Re-test once in an incognito window to rule out stale session issues.
