Input IDs play a crucial role in identifying and organizing data collected from input fields within popups. Here's why they are essential:
Data Organization
Input IDs serve as unique identifiers for input fields, allowing collected data to be organized systematically. Each input ID corresponds to a specific data field, making it easier to manage and analyze responses.
Customization
By assigning input IDs, you gain control over the naming convention of data fields. This customization ensures that collected data aligns with your preferred format and terminology, enhancing clarity and usability.
Data Consistency
Using consistent input IDs across multiple popups ensures uniformity in data collection. This consistency facilitates seamless integration with other tools or platforms, simplifying data processing and analysis.

How to Add Input IDs:
Follow these steps to add input IDs to input fields within your popups:
Open Popup:
Access the Poper dashboard and select the popup you wish to edit.
Select Input Field:
Within the popup editor, click on the input field for which you want to add an input ID.
Access Settings:
Look for the settings or properties panel associated with the selected input field. You can typically find this panel on the sidebar or toolbar of the popup editor.
Add Input ID:
In the settings panel, locate the option to add an input ID. This option may be labeled as "Input ID" or "Field Identifier" or "Key".
Enter Input ID:
Enter a descriptive and unique identifier for the input field. Choose a name that clearly reflects the type of data being collected (e.g., "Email", "Name", "Phone Number").
Save Changes:
After entering the input ID, save your changes to apply the identifier to the input field.
Notes:
Column Header in Responses Data:
The input ID you assign will appear as a column header in the data collected from the popup. This column header helps you identify the corresponding data field in your responses.
β
Default ID Behavior:
If no input ID is added to an input field, Poper will use a random ID generated by the system. However, this random ID may not align with your preferred naming convention and can be difficult to manage.
β
By adding input IDs to input fields within your popups, you gain greater control over data organization, customization, and consistency, ultimately enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of your data collection process.
