Poper Quiz — How do I turn my quiz into a personality quiz that shows a different result for each visitor?

Short answer: Switch the Quiz Type to Personality, add your outcomes (the possible results), then on each question map every option to one outcome with the points it should give. The result screen shows the outcome with the highest total.

What a personality quiz is — in one line: Instead of right/wrong with a score, every answer adds points to one of your outcomes, and the visitor ends on the outcome that won.

Step 1 — Set the quiz type to Personality

  1. Open the quiz and go to Configuration.

  2. Open the General section and find Quiz Type.

  3. Choose Personality.

After this change, scoring (passing %, grading scale, A/B/C/D) goes away from the result screen, because the result is now the winning outcome — not a score.

Step 2 — Add your outcomes

Outcomes are the possible results a visitor can land on (for example: The Explorer, The Strategist, The Creator).

  1. While Quiz Type is set to Personality, open the Personality / Outcomes area in Configuration.

  2. Add each outcome with at least:

    • a name (shown on the result screen),

    • a short description (what this result means),

    • optionally an image so the result screen feels finished.

  3. Add as many outcomes as you need. Most personality quizzes work best with 3–5 outcomes; too many makes it harder for any one outcome to win.

Step 3 — Map every option on every question

This is the step most people miss. The quiz only “knows” which outcome to give if your options are connected to outcomes.

  1. Go to the Create tab.

  2. Open your first question.

  3. For each option, choose:

    • which outcome that option contributes to, and

    • how many points it adds to that outcome (1 is fine for most options).

  4. Repeat for every option on every question. An option can be left unmapped, but unmapped options will not push anyone toward a result, so prefer mapping them all.

Tip: Keep the points consistent (for example always 1 point per option) unless you have a reason to weight one answer more heavily — uneven weights make results harder to predict.

Step 4 — Check the result screen

  1. Open the quiz Preview.

  2. Take the quiz once, choosing answers that should clearly favor one outcome.

  3. Confirm the result screen shows that outcome’s name, description, and image.

  4. Run it again, picking answers for a different outcome, and confirm the result changes.

Step 5 — Watch the share warning before publishing

On the Share tab, the editor warns you if a personality quiz still has options without an outcome mapping. If you see that warning, go back to the Create tab and finish mapping the missing options — otherwise some visitors may finish without a clear winner.

Common things people ask while building a personality quiz

  • Can two outcomes tie? Yes — that is why uneven points or one extra question helps break ties.

  • Do I need a “correct” answer? No. Personality quizzes ignore correctness; only outcome points matter.

  • Can I use this as a product recommender? Yes — pick Product Recommendation as the quiz type instead of Personality. The mapping idea is the same: each option points to a product with points; the highest total wins.

  • Will the analytics still be useful? Yes — the Results tab uses a personality dashboard that shows how often each outcome won and which participants got which result.

If results feel off

  • One outcome always wins → you have far more options mapped to that outcome than to others. Re-balance by mapping more options to the other outcomes.

  • Visitors keep landing on the same outcome with different answers → check that you actually changed the outcome (not just the option text) on each option.

  • Result screen is empty → the visitor’s answers did not push any outcome above zero. Make sure most options have an outcome and at least 1 point.
