How can I choose the right content type in the QR Code widget?

The most important QR setup step is selecting the correct Content Type first (Website, WhatsApp, WiFi, vCard, Event, Payment, and more). Each type uses different fields and creates a different scan behavior.

This screenshot should show where content type is selected before entering details.

  1. Open your QR Code widget and go to Content.

  2. Choose a group tab:

    • Website & Link

    • Social Media

    • Contact

    • Payment

    • Other

  3. Select the exact content type (for example Website URL, WhatsApp, WiFi, vCard, Event).

  4. Fill only the fields shown in Enter Details for that type.

  5. Test the preview output and scan once on a phone before publishing.

Use this setting when users report “QR opens the wrong app/page” or “scan result is not what I expected.”

Check this if the result does not look right:

  • If it opens the wrong destination, confirm the selected content type matches your intent.

  • If scan result is generic, verify required fields for that type are filled.

  • If nothing meaningful is configured, the widget may fallback to a default URL.
