Why does my Progress Bar widget show different numbers (percentage vs fixed value)?

Understand progress modes so your bars display exactly the metric your audience expects.

Why does my Progress Bar widget show different numbers (percentage vs fixed value)?

Each bar can track progress as either percentage (0–100%) or fixed value (for example 32 of 50). If the mode and your data don’t match, the displayed numbers can look confusing.

This screenshot should show where progress type is selected and how output changes in preview.

  1. Open Content and edit a bar item.

  2. Select the correct progress type:

    • Percentage if your metric is naturally a percent

    • Fixed value if your metric is a real count against a goal

  3. Enter consistent values:

    • Percentage: completion value should be in 0–100 range

    • Fixed value: set both completion and goal correctly

  4. Check preview labels and right-side value formatting.

  5. Repeat for all bars so they use one consistent logic across the widget.

Use this setting when your audience needs precise numeric context, not just visual fill.

Check this if the result does not look right:

  • If values look inflated, verify bar type is not mixed unintentionally.

  • If progress appears capped unexpectedly, check the fixed goal value.

  • If comparisons feel inconsistent, standardize all bars to one mode.
