Why do fields change after I switch templates in the Trust Badges widget?

Understand why Trust Badges fields such as rating, link URL, image upload, caption, and tooltip depend on the selected template.

The Trust Badges widget changes its editing fields based on the template you choose. This is expected because each trust badge design is built for a different purpose and does not need the same content.

1 Edit only fields this template uses points to the controls available for the selected trust badge layout. 2 Check the badge result shows the live preview updating beside the settings.

Why this happens

Some templates are made for seals, some for payment logos, some for review cards, and some for scrolling logo rows. A payment logo row may not need label or caption fields. A review layout may show rating controls. A platform or review badge may show a link URL field.

What to do after switching templates

After choosing a new template, open the Content tab and review each badge. Check whether the new layout needs shorter labels, images, ratings, links, or fewer badges.

Why design settings may reset

When you choose a different template, the widget applies that template's default size, spacing, colors, and layout settings. This helps the new design look correct, but it also means you should review the Settings tab again after switching.

  • If a field disappears, the selected template probably does not use it.

  • If you need clickable badges, choose a template that supports Link URL.

  • If you need ratings, choose a review-style template.

  • If your spacing or colors changed, reopen Settings and adjust them for the new template.
