When to use this
If visitors can see the ticker but cannot comfortably read it, adjust the motion settings. This is especially important for clickable announcements, critical notices, and tickers placed near the top of a page where people scan quickly.
Suggested annotations: 1. Speed control. 2. Direction setting for marquee movement. 3. Pause on hover for readability and clickable items. 4. Layout-specific timing controls.
Steps
Open the News Ticker widget editor.
Go to the Behavior tab.
Lower the Speed if visitors need more time to read each headline.
Keep Pause on hover enabled when ticker items are clickable.
If you use the Rotating layout, increase the interval so each item stays visible longer.
If you use the Multi Row layout, choose the number of rows carefully so items do not feel cramped.
Preview the widget on desktop and mobile before saving.
Recommended settings
For important notices, use a slower speed and pause on hover.
For clickable headlines, avoid fast movement because visitors need time to aim and click.
For many short updates, use multi-row movement instead of forcing every item into one fast line.
For one update at a time, use rotating layout with a longer interval.
Tips
If the ticker still feels hard to read, shorten the headlines before increasing the speed.
Test with real content. Sample text can make motion feel cleaner than it will be with long announcements.
On mobile, keep the item count smaller so visitors are not asked to track too much moving text in a narrow space.
