How can I import feed items into the News Ticker widget?

Use an RSS or feed URL to fill the News Ticker widget with fresh items automatically.

When to use this

Use feed import when your ticker should show regularly updated content from a blog, newsroom, status page, announcement feed, or another source that already publishes RSS or XML items. This is useful when you do not want to manually edit every new headline.

Steps

  1. Open the News Ticker widget editor.

  2. Go to the Content tab.

  3. Select Feed Import as the source.

  4. Paste the RSS, Atom, or XML feed URL in the Feed URL field.

  5. Choose how many items should appear using Item Limit.

  6. Set the Refresh interval based on how often the source changes.

  7. Click Fetch to load the feed items into the widget.

  8. Review the preview to make sure the headlines are short enough for the selected layout.

Tips

  • The feed URL must be public and reachable. Private admin feed URLs may not load.

  • Use a lower item limit when the ticker is placed in a narrow header or footer.

  • If the feed does not include tags or categories, use the feed tag fallback so items still have a clear label.

  • If the feed source is unreliable, switch back to manual items for the most important announcements.
