How can I make each item clickable in the News Ticker widget?

Add a destination link to individual News Ticker items so visitors can open the right page from a headline.

When to use this

Use clickable ticker items when each announcement should take visitors to a specific page, offer, blog post, status update, or product announcement. This keeps the News Ticker widget useful without turning every message into a long paragraph.

Steps

  1. Open the News Ticker widget editor.

  2. Go to the Content tab.

  3. Use Manual Items as the content source.

  4. Open the ticker item you want to make clickable.

  5. Enter the announcement text in the Headline field.

  6. Add the destination page in the Link URL field.

  7. Turn on Open in new tab when the link sends visitors outside your website or to a resource you do not want to interrupt their current page for.

  8. Save the widget and test the item by clicking it from the preview or live page.

Tips

  • If the Link URL field is empty, the ticker item will display as text only.

  • Use a full URL for external pages, such as https://example.com/sale.

  • Keep the headline short. The ticker should tell visitors why they should click, not explain the full page.

  • Place the most important clickable item near the top of the list so it appears earlier in rotating, typing, and vertical layouts.
