The Weather widget has different templates for different jobs. A compact capsule, forecast list, ticker, grid, and dashboard do not use the same controls, so the settings can change after you select a new template.
What to notice in the screenshot
Template choices: Each design is built for a different weather use case.
Selected template: The selected template controls which Content and Appearance settings are relevant.
Why settings appear or disappear
Some settings only make sense for certain templates. For example, News Ticker and Global Grid use multiple cities, so the widget shows Managed Cities. A single-city card uses Primary City instead.
Appearance settings also depend on the template. A glass-style layout may show Glass Opacity, while a ticker layout may show Animation Speed. Data point toggles such as humidity, wind, UV, visibility, or sunrise/sunset appear only when the selected template can display them.
What to review after switching templates
Open Content and confirm the location setup still matches your goal.
Open Appearance and review the controls available for the new template.
Check the preview, especially on mobile, because compact and dashboard-style templates use space differently.
Switching templates is safe, but always review these settings before updating the widget so the final design shows the right weather information.
