How can I choose the right location mode in the Weather widget?

Use Specific, Visitor, or multi-city behavior depending on where the Weather widget should get its location.

Written by Karan Bhakuni

Choose the location mode based on whether the Weather widget should always show one fixed place, try to show the visitor's local weather, or display several cities in one layout.

What to notice in the screenshot

  1. Location Mode: Choose whether the widget should use a visitor location or a fixed city.

  2. Primary City: Enter the city used when Specific is selected.

  3. Search: Use this to check the city and update the preview.

Use Specific for one fixed location

Choose Specific when the widget should always show the same city, such as your store location, event city, hotel destination, or service area.

Enter the city name in Primary City, then use the search button to check that Poper can find the right location.

Use Visitor when the weather should follow the visitor

Choose Visitor when the widget should show weather based on the visitor's location when available. This is useful for broad audiences where each visitor may care about their own local weather.

If visitor location is blocked or unavailable, test carefully and consider using Specific for a more predictable experience.

When location mode changes automatically

Some templates, such as News Ticker and Global Grid, are designed for multiple cities. When you choose one of those templates, the widget switches to a managed city list instead of a single primary city.
