How can visitors change their choice later in the Cookie Consent widget?

Use the revisit icon so visitors can reopen the cookie banner and update their consent choice later.

Enable the revisit option when visitors should be able to change their cookie choice after the first decision. This is important for consent-based banners because a visitor may deny cookies first and later decide to allow analytics or another category.

What to notice in the screenshot

  1. Ask users: The revisit icon is available only for consent mode.

  2. Revisit Icon: Turn this on to keep a small cookie button visible after the banner is accepted or denied.

  3. Revisit Icon Position: Choose where the icon should sit on the website.

Enable the revisit icon

Open the Content tab, expand Strategy, and choose Ask users. Turn on Revisit Icon, then choose a position such as bottom left or bottom right.

Pick a position that does not cover another floating element on your website, such as chat, cart, support, or accessibility buttons.

What visitors see after making a choice

After a visitor allows, denies, or saves preferences, the banner closes and their choice is saved in their browser. If the revisit icon is enabled, a small cookie icon remains available on the page.

When the visitor clicks that icon, the Cookie Consent widget can show the banner again so they can update their choice.

How to test it

Publish or preview the widget, make a consent choice, and confirm the banner closes. Then click the revisit icon and check that the banner opens again.

If you are testing repeatedly in the same browser, remember that consent is saved locally. Use a private window or clear site storage if you need to test the first-time visitor experience again.
