Why is a contact option not opening correctly in the All-in-One Chat widget?
A contact option usually fails to open when the required value is missing or entered in the wrong format. Each contact type creates a different kind of link, so the field must match the selected app.
1 Enter contact details shows the value field for the selected channel. This value controls where visitors go when they click the button.
Check the format for the contact type you selected:
WhatsApp: enter a phone number with country code. The widget removes symbols and opens a
wa.melink.Email: enter a valid email address, such as
[email protected]. Invalid email formats will not create a working email link.Phone: enter a callable phone number. The widget opens it as a
tel:link.Instagram or Telegram: enter the username. The widget can remove the
@when building the link.Messenger: enter a username,
m.mepath, or full link.LinkedIn, Discord, Slack, YouTube, or Custom: use a complete URL when possible.
Directions: enter a street address or coordinates so the widget can open Google Maps search.
If a button still does not open, test the value outside Poper first. For example, open the WhatsApp number, map address, or social profile in a browser to confirm the destination exists.
Also check the browser behavior. Email and phone links depend on the visitor's device and installed apps. A desktop browser may ask which mail or calling app to use.
