How to connect Poper to AI tools using MCP

Poper MCP lets AI tools securely read useful data from your Poper account, such as projects, domains, campaigns, forms, quizzes, surveys, leads, and analytics.

You can use it with MCP-compatible tools such as Claude, Cursor, Codex, or any other client that supports remote MCP servers.

Before you start

You need:

  • A Poper account

  • A Poper API key

  • An MCP-compatible AI client

The Poper MCP server URL is:

https://mcp.poper.ai/mcp

Step 1: Add the Poper MCP server

Open your AI tool's MCP settings and add a new remote MCP server.

Use this server URL:

https://mcp.poper.ai/mcp

Save the MCP server.

The exact setup screen is different in each AI tool, but the server URL is the same.

Step 2: Authorize Poper

After adding the MCP server, your AI tool will open a Poper authorization page.

On that page:

  1. Paste your Poper API key.

  2. Confirm that you want to connect Poper.

  3. Return to your AI tool after authorization is complete.

Poper validates the API key before the connection is created. If the key is invalid, expired, or copied incorrectly, the authorization page will ask you to try again.

Step 3: Ask your AI tool about Poper

Once connected, you can ask your AI tool questions like:

List all my Poper projects and domains.

Show me all active popups for example.com.

Get the latest leads from my Poper campaigns.

Show analytics for example.com for the last 30 days.

Which forms, quizzes, and surveys are collecting responses?

Security notes

Your Poper API key is used to authorize MCP access. Treat it like a password.

Do not share your API key in chat messages. Only paste it into the Poper MCP authorization page.

If you think your API key has been exposed, revoke it in Poper and create a new one.

Troubleshooting

The authorization page says my API key is invalid

Check that you copied the full API key without spaces before or after it. If the issue continues, create a new API key in Poper and try again.

My AI tool cannot see Poper actions

Make sure the MCP server URL is exactly:

https://mcp.poper.ai/mcp

Then disconnect and reconnect the MCP server in your AI tool.

I cannot see some campaigns or domains

The MCP can only access data available to the Poper account connected to your API key. Make sure the API key belongs to the correct account or workspace.

Analytics are missing

Analytics requests usually require a domain and a date range. Try asking with a specific domain, such as:

Show analytics for example.com for the last 30 days.

Removing access

To remove access, disconnect the Poper MCP server from your AI tool.

You can also revoke the API key in Poper. Once revoked, that MCP connection will no longer be able to fetch Poper data.
