Poper's traffic source filtering allows you to target specific audiences based on where they came from when they landed on your website. This means you can choose to show or hide your popups depending on the traffic source, giving you more control over your popup campaigns.
How to Use Traffic Source Filtering
Edit Your Popup
Navigate to your Poper dashboard and edit the popup you want to apply traffic source filtering to.
Open Display Conditions > Audience
On the left side of the popup editor, locate the "Display Conditions" > "Audience" tab and click on it.
Enable Traffic Source Filtering
Scroll down within the Audience Filtering options until you find the "Traffic Source" section. Click on it.
Show or Hide Popups Based on Traffic Source
Enabling the toggle will expand the options for "Show Popup" and "Hide Popup." These sections each have a multi-select dropdown menu.
Select Traffic Sources: Use the dropdown menus to choose the specific traffic sources where you want your popup to display ("Show Popup") or not display ("Hide Popup"). You can select multiple traffic sources in each dropdown.
Here are some examples of how you might use traffic source filtering:
Target Organic Traffic: Show a special offer popup only to users who find your site through organic search.
Exclude Paid Ads: Hide a popup from users who arrive from your paid advertising campaigns to avoid overwhelming them with multiple marketing messages.
Focus on Referral Traffic: Display a targeted popup to visitors coming from your referral partners' websites.
Save Your Popup
Once you've configured your traffic source filtering options, be sure to save or update your popup to apply the changes.
Additional Notes:
Poper stores user traffic source data in a cookie named "_poper_m" which lasts for 365 days. This ensures Poper remembers the user's traffic source for future visits within that timeframe.
